Field Day at Matangi 2016
The first Field Day for Beekeeper's organised by the Honeybee Society, (now known as NZ Beekeeping), was held on Saturday 28 May, 2016 at the community hall at Matangi, approximately 15 mins drive out of Hamilton. 140 people attended the day. Topics on the programme included Nosema, Willow Aphid, Varroa and AFB, as well as a panel discussion on problems facing Beekeepers handling Honeydew honey and possible solutions.
A number of trade displays were there, including Beeline Supplies. We were attending our first Field Day in the North Island. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new customers, as well as catching up with Beekeepers we have known for many years.
